Winter Prep Checklist for Your Infiniti

Cold weather is hard on batteries, belts, and fluids. Before temperatures drop, it's worth running through a short checklist.
Start with the battery. Cold weather reduces cranking power, so a battery that's been marginal all summer may fail outright in winter. A quick load test can tell you if it needs replacing.
Check your alternator output too. If your electrical system is already working hard to keep a weak battery charged, add in winter accessories like heated seats and defrosters and you could be running a deficit.
Inspect wheel speed sensors and brake components. Road salt and grime accelerate corrosion on exposed sensor wiring and calipers.
Finally, check engine and transmission mounts. Cold, stiff rubber is more prone to cracking, and a failing mount is more noticeable in winter as everything in the drivetrain tightens up.
